Hugh Mattson is found dead at the bottom of an iron staircase in the Library of Congress in Washington. Apparent accident becomes certain murder. Peter Shane, and helper Francis Bonnamy uncover the truth.

Condition grading: Good Minus. Pen name and date to title page. Foxing and ring mark to front cover. Some damage and wear to spine. Crease down right edge of rear cover which has light foxing. Binding tight. The photographs form part of the description.
